Tables for Collaboration, Flexibility, and Teamwork
My students need one table to allow for greater collaboration, flexibility, and teamwork in my classroom.
This project expired on November 23, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I am a veteran special education teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where my students are faced with many challenges, which they fight hard to overcome. This year, my co-teacher and I will welcome 29 amazing young learners into our classroom in September. We are eager to do this with a new classroom set up and these tables will allow us to do just that!
My students tend to have difficulty sitting still and need space to more freely around the classroom.
By using tables instead of desks, it frees up so much classroom space to give them the opportunity to do so. Tables will also increase collaboration and teamwork, just what every kid needs!
We are requesting two adjustable activity tables that will allow students to work together in spacious and comfortable way. These tables will allow students to work together as a community to problem solve collaboratively in all academic areas. Students have expressed great interest in removing the desks in the room and replacing them with tables.
The goal of my co-teacher and me is to eliminate the current mismatched desks that do not allow for collaboration and community building and replace them with these activity tables where students can work together and learn from one another.
We are eager to get these tables and transform our learning environment for the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
