"So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you." This quote is something that I find to be more true each and every day that I am in the classroom. I have often said that I have learned more from my students this year, and some days, I need them more than they need me. Teaching kindergarten is such a rewarding job to have because they are like sponges absorbing everything you teach.
My students come from a low socioeconomic background.
The kids at school are primarily on free or reduced lunch. It is so important for students to develop a love for learning at this age in order to promote their interest in wanting to become lifelong learners.
Each day, my students go to centers and rotate every 15 minutes. These stations are meant to enhance their learning and give them the opportunity to explore what has been taught in the classroom. Right now, my kindergarteners are writing sentences! I'm so excited about the progress they've made! In order for them to continue writing sentences, I would like to offer them a more comfortable space for writing purposes. It would also be great to have a table for their word-work so that they're able to spread out and focus on creating words instead of being cramped together in a small space.
