Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Inside my classroom, you will see students that span across the Autism spectrum. Our school is located in a low income area in the Bronx.
Everyone in my classroom works hard to create a positive learning environment for the students.
In order for my classroom to run smoothly, we have a structured environment where students have clear visual boundaries for different areas. Each student learns differently and we adapt everything to meet their individual needs.
We strive hard for our students to succeed and become independent!
My Project
In my classroom I don't have a table where me and my students can sit together for instruction. I have 8 students in my class and we would like to have one spot in the room where we can all join together during our instruction time. By having this table in our classroom it will be easier to do whole group lessons. It will also be easier to keep my students focused since they will all be sitting in front of me and not scattered around the classroom. A lot of my students also have a hard time sitting and attending so having them all at one table will be easier for myself and the paraprofessionals in my classroom to keep the students on target.
