My students are an energetic and creative group of 3rd graders who bring much laughter and happiness to our classroom. Our school is located in rural Wisconsin and has served many generations of our community. We are fortunate to have such strong ties to those who live in the area, many of whom attended themselves.

I am hoping to create a classroom environment that fosters this theme, and helps my students learn the importance and power of working with others. I would love the opportunity to give my students a classroom environment that is organized and supports collaboration and teamwork.
My Project
Students in my classroom would benefit greatly by the tables this project would provide. Currently my students are in old desks that are damaged and often falling apart. Keeping desks organized and working collaboratively on projects and assignments are very difficult.
For nearly all subjects, students in my room work collaboratively with a small group or partner on a daily basis.
This work is crucial to both their academic and social growth.
One of the most difficult times for group work is during our math block. My students don't have a way to sit with a group and collectively solve problems. Often times students can't see what others are writing, or how problems are being solved. Having large tables for not only collaboration, but also problem solving will have a lasting impact on my students classroom experience.
