My students are an amazing, cohesive group. I serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade who are learning English. Students are learning to read, write, listen and speak in English and become bilingual by the end of elementary school.
The students in our class represent a sea of diverse families.
They are also learning on many different levels throughout each subject. The students light up when we move, play, explore and dive deep into our standards. When these students are leading the world one day, I have all the confidence in accomplishments they will make.
My Project
This table will be used by at least 40 children per day in various small group arrangements. Having a wide-open space to write new vocabulary, solve math equations and draw our our story boards will provide my students with scaffolding and problem solving space.
Table talk with sketching is a powerful way to learn a language.
My students need many visuals and examples. Putting the marker in their hands gives them voice and choice in so many ways!
This table will be used in all different kinds of lessons. From explaining fractions to third graders to beginning text dependent analysis work with fourth and fifth.
