In my classroom, I work hard to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment. I enjoy giving my students options to get comfortable and learn. My students know that they can sit or stand at any time to help them focus. I hope to give them more options to choose from, as they learn.
My students are lively and creative.
They like to move and be social, like all middle school kids. My goal is to give them a classroom environment that gives them different options to work, collaborate, create, and learn. Adding these new seating options will help my students collaborate.
I have found that after sitting through a few classes, some kids like a chance to stand to work. The tall table will be used to stand and get creative. The round table will be used, along with the swivel stools, to give a larger group a place to move and collaborate. The small table will be used by students who work best in the floor. These new tables will also give my students a chance to take ownership of their learning by choosing where they work best. This is a skill they will need for the real world.
My Project
I am requesting these 3 sturdy tables to make our classroom even better. The desk that were in the classroom were not friendly for collaboration and group work. As you can see in the picture, I have moved those desk out. Out with the old in with the new!!
For now, I plan to use the black plastic folding tables from the lab.
However, having these sturdy tables donated will help make the classroom more inviting, and something the students can be proud of.
The students will be able to sit and collaborate scientific ideas with each other. The tables, along with the new seating, will help the students become more responsible in their learning. The new classroom materials will also help to prepare them for the real world by giving them a sturdy place to actively collaborate, communicate, and be creative.
