This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My first-grade students are vibrant, loving and ready to learn. My students are special because they love to learn and cherish their time in school. The school's demographic is one hundred percent economically disadvantaged. Fifty-two percent of our students are African American, thirty percent Hispanic American, and eighteen percent other.
My students work hard and show pride in their neighborhood, school, and community.
My classroom is full of future presidents, doctors, ninjas, veterinarians, cops, and, of course, teachers. I hope that you can join us on this journey and help us to achieve these dreams and more.
My Project
Please donate to provide our classroom with a flexible seating area.
Children learn best when their bodies are in movement; this is why providing my students with some choice in seating will improve their cognitive abilities as well as make our classroom environment more conducive to learning.
Children also learn best when they are provided with choice. Providing choices help children (especially early learners) to take ownership of their education. I find that children work harder, focus better, and produce more grade-level appropriate work when they are given choice, and the opportunity to move in a productive manner.
This is why flexible seating will make such a difference in our classroom!
