Help me give my students sturdy classroom tables that they can work together in groups.
I have an energetic and curious bunch of third graders who enjoy working in groups. The classroom is always full of energy and questions. The best way to keep my students engaged is to keep them working cooperatively in groups. My students are special to me because of their ability to learn new things and take on new challenges. They have great insight and are curious about the world around them. They are an amazing group of third graders who need to be challenged and rewarded for their successes.
Providing tables in the classroom will allow my students to have the opportunity to work together on group projects that will be assigned throughout the year. New tables will give them an area that is large enough to spread out supplies and work together. Upgrading to sturdier tables, instead of the collapsible, plastic ones we currently have, will provide a better work area and the tables won't move as easily.
Having matching tables in our classroom will show the students that we care enough to create an environment that says, "we are ready to learn." If we have all of our tables the same style, it allows us to put the tables together to create a larger working area when needed. The atmosphere that a student learns in matters to their overall educational experience.
