Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are so special to me because they eagerly come into school ready to learn despite the challenges they may encounter at home and in the community. They are kind and helpful to each other and their teachers. Our school is an inner-city school and almost 90% of our families qualify for free or reduced lunch. Some families benefit from our food pantry located in our school. Many of our student's families cannot afford to send in school supplies. The teachers in our school tap into outside resources, families, and friends when they see a family in need.
My Project
Help me give my incoming kindergarten students a great start to the new school year! For some of our students, this is their first experience in school. Providing an inviting, warm, and organized atmosphere will help to put their mind at ease. The adjustable table will be used for flexible seating for center activities, games, and work stations.
Our inner-city young students first experience in a public school setting needs love, support, understanding, sympathy, empathy, structure, goals, and tools.
Please help me give my students the essential tools they need for the beginning of the school year. The dry erase markers and large pencils will help our students develop their fine motor skills, drawing skills, and writing skills. The glue sticks will be helpful for completing center activities and crafts.
We integrate technology into our curriculum to enhance our student's learning. Our converter cable needs replacing and is a must to connect our projector to the iPad. We use our projector daily for music, movement, read alouds, and videos related to our learning goals.
