This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Schools closed in mid March in Milwaukee. The COVID-19 pandemic has stopped students from attending school physically and has caused them to break out of their daily routines. We have been doing remote learning and passing out learning packets to families.
100% of students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our district has continued to feed students with the Stop, Grab and Go program.
Since our school will be closed for the rest of the school year, I'm trying to get my students ready for next year by meeting the learning needs of my students.
My Project
I am requesting materials for remote teaching. My young students struggle with online learning. I need a variety of books to read online to my students. These wonderful books will keep my students engaged during remote learning.
The Math Talk Activity will be used during Google Meet to teach my students about numbers and quantity.
The set contains several math questions and how to solve the problem. The Alphabet Acorn set will also be used during remote teaching to help students learn beginning sounds. The pieces are cute and will draw in my students to the lesson I am teaching. This is a great way to try to involve my students in learning letters.
The dry erase markers, dry erase boards and highlighters will be used while I teach lessons. Young students need to see the teacher writing in order to learn how to write themselves. The laminating sheets will be used for games I make to help materials last longer.
