Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is growing up to be future leaders. We are a "Leader In Me" school, and my students have taken ownership of this. They have taken charge in and out of the classroom. This is evident in how they interact with each other, other teachers, our actual school. They are aware of their own individual progress, set goals, and are always eager to do better. Their love for learning is an inspiration.
I have laughed so much this year!
The stories I hear, the comments they make, and just their personalities have made this year the most memorable one yet!
My Project
As I have transitioned into second grade this year, I was able to see my students' love for books from day 1! For our class, we would need class sets of books to read and complete comprehension projects. We have done other class readings this year and it is amazing to see the students interact with the books and their conversations are engaging!
My second grade students are enthusiastic about their learning.
They are always ready for the next topic, no matter how challenging it may be. With this, using higher level class sets of reading materials (Because of Winn-Dixie, Mr Poppers Penguins and The Year of Billy Miller) will help my students fulfill their excitement for learning! They will be able to have the books in front of them and find text evidence within them. As a class set, students will be able to synergize, or work together!
