My students need to stay active during recess. Playing basketball during their recess time provides them with an opportunity to interact with other students and have fun.
My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Students are eager to learn and really love school. School is the best place for them to have access to books and other learning manipulatives. About 30% of my students are English Learners.
I encourage my students to let books help them discover the world.
I use literature and multi-cultural music to introduce diverse languages and rhythms.
My students are fortunate to attend a school that has a strong sense of pride. Positive behavioral support and interventions are emphasized and students have the opportunity to earn awards in the classroom and be recognized at weekly unity assemblies.
My Project
My class loves playing basketball at recess. Shooting hoops is fun. Students like to practice playing defense and making 3 pointer shots. My class would love to have enough basketballs to play with at recess. They want to be like their favorite players......Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James.
My students need basketballs so they can play their favorite game during recess.
Being able to play basketball at recess gives students the opportunity to interact in a positive way with their classmates. Playing basketball improves their fitness and gross motor skills, which ultimately improves their academic achievement. Students that play organized games during recess come back to class ready to learn.
