My Students

The Functional Academics classroom is set up to teach students basic academic needs including Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies for 3 different grades. The students in our classroom have a variety of abilities that require educational experiences to be adapted to meet their unique needs.

We have a wide range of sensory needs and want to enhance my sensory area.

Students work hard to learn about activities of daily living that will help them to transition to high school and eventually to adult living. My students would love a swing to use their classroom money they earn break time. This is where we are hoping for your support.

My Project

Cuddle swings provide multiple benefits to students with special needs.

This swing fabric cuddle swing provides them with the deep pressure that is needed to relieve certain sensory needs that they are lacking.

It provides a reward that students will work extremely hard to receive. They earn classroom dollars for their hard work and this will be a great way to practice using money. It is often hard to find things that my students are interested and willing to work for that is not related to technology. We already have the connection hook on the ceiling and this would be a great addition to our classroom.
