Swinging Strings Need Books to Sing

My Project

Our students need method books to facilitate practice at home.

ACMS orchestra students need method books so we can practice away from school to enhance retention of what we learn in class and aid us in becoming master musicians.

Our strings program consists of 30 to 40 students who play various instruments. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch, and music is one of the few outlets students have to express their individuality during the school day. Many also have immediate family members who are involved in the military, and as a military community, the economy fluctuates due to deployment and the transient nature of military families.

Many students are not able to financially contribute to purchasing their own books, but if students have access to books, they will have the ability to work at school and at home, thereby enabling them to retain and reinforce what is learned in the classroom, perfect their practice at home, and improve their overall performance.
