My Students

My classroom is a self-contained middle school group with 10 mild to moderate students with special needs. We work on academics as well as skills to promote independence in daily living. These students need multiple repetitions and presentations in a variety of ways to master the skills they are working on.

My Project

I have students that struggle with sitting in traditional chairs while learning. We had some of these bungee chairs but after 5 years they have worn out. We also have a new friend that came into our classroom that likes to swing. To make him comfortable in his new environment, I want to add a swing to our seating options.

These two new seating options provide a place to learn and an area to go to relax when learning becomes overwhelming.
