Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not their primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences and rewards.
My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!
It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.
My Project
Since we are a PBIS school, as part of our positive behavior program my students can earn money called Panther Paws. These Panther Paws are earned when students show positive behaviors. When enough Panther Paws are earned, students can visit our classroom store. In order to prepare for my new students next year, it is important that I have my classroom store fully stocked on the first day of school. The large candy that I am requesting such as starburst, skittles and candy bars would be added to our large candy bin, while the smaller candy bin would be filled with lollipops, airheads, and packs of gum. All of these sweet treats would be available for students to purchase with their Panther Paws!
