My students and I enjoy project-based learning, but it almost always incorporates technology. Oftentimes, we are unable to be successful and innovative with the limited technology resources in our classroom.
My students are brilliantly talented and showcase their learning and talents tenfold when technology is incorporated.
I have a wide-range of students from two years below grade level to students labeled as Gifted & Talented mastering division in first grade! Technology integration is the key to differentiation and I am always amazed at the level of output when technology is involved. We are a technology driven school, but lack the technology tools. In order to reach all of my students and motivate them, we need more technology tools in our classroom!
My Project
My students will use their Chromebook and iPad to assist with researching in all content areas. They will also use it during intervention lessons on programs like iStation, RazKids, Happy Numbers and Reflex Math. In addition, students will use the Chromebook and iPad for written publications with Web 2.0 tools such as publishing with Chatterpix and PicCollage. Lastly, students will use the Chromebook and iPad to collaborate with each other on group projects like clay animation with Flipagram and individual passion projects using our green screen. While 1 Chromebook and 1 iPad does not seem like it will add much to a classroom, it truly will make a huge impact. If I can just get 2 more students on a device, it means engaging, motivating and meeting a couple more students at their individual level in my classroom. Please help me build the tech resources in my classroom, a couple of tools at a time. Thank you for your time and consideration!
