My Students
My students are amazing young people who have come to the end of a special journey in the midst of an unprecedented time. Yes, I'm talking about the graduating class of 2020. I work at a Title 1 high school that serves students who come from low-income homes. Regardless of their economic status, my black and brown students are resilient, cherish education, and have embraced learning even with limited resources. We have been learning via Google Classroom, but many parents reach out saying they have access to no internet, etc. Once a week, these struggling parents are allowed to safely pick up student work. That's the willingness to learn that I'm talking about.
Now, as the graduating class of 2020 looks toward an uncertain future, I am asking that you join me in reassuring them that all is well.
My Project
Students will use the materials chosen (chips, goldfish, candy, etc.) while they remain home to experience comfort and care from teachers and donors through a thoughtful act of kindness during the coronavirus pandemic. The snacks that you purchase are snacks our students love and enjoy but usually can't afford.
Your contribution/donation will provide warmth, care, and combat hunger.
It's just the special touch we need for the packages. We want this class to have a sweet experience in the midst of our current situation. Thank you for supporting our efforts to make graduation special!
