Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of gifted and talented kindergarteners. Their love of learning and enthusiasm inspires me everyday. Although, we are labeled gifted and talented, my students still learn at many different levels. Some students are learning to put sounds together to create words while others students are reading beginning chapter books.
We call our class the K-6 family.
In our class we respect, care and support one another. Our school is quite large, we have 9 kindergarten classes this year on the grade. Although it is a large school it has always felt like a family. We have strong parent involvement, an amazing administration and students who possess a love of learning.
My Project
Right now some of my students chairs are unbalanced, in need of repair, too heavy or just plain old. The table legs have writing on them and all of the furniture is mismatched.
Donating to my project will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
I beIieve new chairs and tables will not only be more comfortable but will also be exciting and will extend the time my students will sit to learn. I believe that just having the basics like new tables and chairs will be what my students need to help them learn, grow and flourish into soon to be first graders.
