Sweeping In The New Year

Help me give my students a hand held vacuum, wipes, and band aids to stay healthy!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Pogue's classroom raised $250

This project is fully funded

My Project

I teach full-day kindergarten in an Oklahoma school. The students in my classrooms come from a variety of social, academic, and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, our classroom is a place that embraces connections made across content areas as we develop as learners and community members.

Children benefit from authentic learning experiences where their engagement stems from their ability to have choice, voice, and ownership of their learning.

The hand held vacuum, wipes and band aids will help us make sure that the space we learn in daily is sanitized and cleaned as well as how to care for ourselves in instances where we are hurt. The sweeper will allow children to develop responsibility for the care and upkeep of their classroom. All of the items will contribute to our continued development of independence in our classroom.

The cleanliness and sanitation of the room are contributing factors to ensuring that it is a safe learning environment. The classroom is ours and these tools will allow children to develop an independence and responsibility to care for the environment that contributes to their development beyond academics.
