My Students

We have been very fortunate to have a great bunch of teachers and administrators at my school.

The student body literally comes from the most financially challenged in Oakland, but the kids are wonderful and ready to learn.

The parents of our kids are either front line workers or unemployed.

My Project

Hi Folks,

My Maker Class is making official school hoodies for themselves and have learned how we make garments.

I had a bit of a SNAFU in that I have a ton of extra-large hoodies and my kids are all medium and large. As I opened the boxes preparing to do the craft, I realized that I did originally order medium and small hoodies, but they were not available. This project is combination of keeping kids warm with a new sweatshirt and teaching them lessons about how to make things, that you can make things, and I provide a business subtext of "you can have a business" doing this.
