My Students

With our school population of almost 800, 100% of the students are living in apartments. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 85% of our students receiving free lunch. Students have the option to receive free breakfast daily through a program at the school that is open to all students.

Our school has a diverse population of students from various countries who speak a variety of different languages.

Many students will come to our school for the first time and never have learned to speak English.

I have assisted our school in providing a variety of resources such as weekend food bags for students, free eye care and exams, dental screenings, a free food pantry, and a clothing closet.

My Project

Students benefit from positive behavior reinforcement systems where the teachers praise students when they do well, in addition to awarding prizes. Little toys that a student earns can mean so much more than just a little toy. The feeling of pride and ownership of personal behavior will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Students love showing off how well they are doing by showing their friends their prizes.

Students love going to the treasure box unless the treasure box is bare, which can be sad and disappointing.

With these student incentive prizes from Amazon my students will be motivated to continue to work hard! The prizes students really love and I hope to put in the treasure box are: stampers, light up toys, anything emoji, squishy animals and sticky items.
