Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to lead and learn in the classroom. They are eager to take on new and exciting challenges that will prepare them for their future careers and college.

All of the students in my school receive free breakfast and lunch.

I serve students from very diverse backgrounds. Some students in my class speak English as a second language. I have other students who have very limited resources outside of the classroom. Even with the challenges that some students face, they are all eager to lead discussions and dig into learning each school day.

My Project

The surf seats will allow students to work in various spaces in the classroom. They are not only a place to sit but are also a a desk area for students to use chromebooks, notebooks or other materials.

Having a quiet space to work or an area to discuss learning in groups is crucial in the classroom.

The seats will allow that to occur at a moments notice. This is key because you just never know when a good classroom discussion will pop up. Even better this allows students that might need more personal space an area to work independently.
