My Students

I have 24 students in my 4th-grade class this year. As a school, we encourage our students to recognize that we are all a team and work together to succeed. In our classroom, we focus on being kind and working hard to do our personal best. Each individual child has truly embraced these ideas, and it makes me so proud.

This year's class is one of the sweetest, and most diverse group of learners I have had the opportunity to teach.

Of my 24 students, 4 of them receive resource services, 3 others receive speech, and several others are well below grade level and working hard to make great gains. Each of my students has their own unique set of needs, and it is my number one priority to meet those needs, and make 4th grade a year of growth.

My Project

My students are very diverse learners and have their own unique needs.

In an effort to meet the needs of every child in my class, I plan to incorporate more choices in flexible seating.

The surf desks I am hoping to receive through this project will allow students to choose a more non-traditional seat in our classroom where they can feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.

By encouraging my students to sit where they feel they can learn best I am giving them more independence and accountability for their education and personal progression. These surf desks may just be the ticket for my kids to make the incredible growth we are striving for this year!
