Our high school is made up of a diverse population with 100% of our students receiving free lunch. Many students get their only experiences with current technology through classroom activities. Migrant and homeless students are included in our student population.
My students are eager to explore computer science and multimedia tools and careers while learning foundation skills to carry forward in their future.
My students have diverse interests with some planning to further their education with college and others having plans to go directly into the workforce after high school. With the classes I teach, my hope is to prepare my students to be both college and career ready.
My Project
Using the Microsoft Surface, my students can create, design and code using their own talents instead of just using art and images provided by others. Currently, my students have one device they share for creating their own images and sprites using a stylus. With this, more students will learn to incorporate their own designs into their multimedia projects. In addition, students having the freedom to create their own images will learn about different design methods and file types with this project. Students will learn the benefit of combining different media types into a finished product.
Students will work collaboratively with other students to create original artifacts.
Workplace employability skills will be practiced with the focus on growing an appreciation for others' talents while working on a team to achieve a project goal through multimedia design, production, and coding.
