My Students

Students attend a vocational high school in Northeast Ohio. Our student population skews toward economically disadvantaged and technologically underprivileged. Many do not have technology, or internet access in their homes. Our school is an opportunity to for students to get hands on learning that will help in their future careers and lives

Access to technology is vital to the educational growth of students who do not have access to it at home to attain educational opportunities similar to students in more advantaged parts of the state and country.

My Project

Our vocational school helps students attain the hands on learning and skills they will need to succeed in careers right out of high school. However, the majority of our population comes from an underserved economic region in Northeast Ohio. We have been fortunate enough to attain a grant to give my classroom Surface Pro computers that are helping students learn through the use of modern technology. Over time, the pens used on the computers wear out, or get broken from use. Our grant does not cover the repair, or replacement of these pens.
