My Students

These students come from a variety of backgrounds all contributing to a class dynamic that is conducive to experiential learning. We are in NW Arkansas, home of Walmart, Tyson Foods, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Our district is experiencing rapid growth as the area develops.

Our classes consist of eighth graders with a wide variety of math skills and experiences.

We focus on real-life, relevant learning experiences that address the standards in dynamic, yet rigorous ways. Many of our learners are better served through hands-on, exploratory scenarios and activities involving technology.

My Project

Our students are currently 1-1 with Chromebooks that do not connect to our classroom Starboard. With the addition of a Microsoft Surface Pro, each student will have the opportunity to use and and interact directly with the math lesson projected during class.

Student engagement and connectivity to the lessons will be richly enhanced with this Surface Pro.

While it is only one computer, each student will be able to access its central location in the classroom as math lessons progress on the Starboard.

As a math teacher, I will also be able to build more engaging real-life interactive lessons for virtual students and better connect with their parents by using examples built by students in the classroom.
