My students on the robotics team always need to have the latest and greatest of technology to keep being one of the leading robotics teams in the country. The new tablet computer will enable our team to continue to be a leader in high school robotics in the country. Please help us stay out in front!
The students at Carl Hayden High School are typically the first in their family to graduate high school.
Often they are part of the family workforce and are quick to get jobs rather than go to college. It is a constant battle to get the families let their kids go to college. Once the families agree to let their kids go to college they then see the financial benefits down the line. It is the hope of our program that once a student goes to college, graduates and starts a career that the cycle of poverty in the family will be broken. That is what being on the robotics team at our school has been doing for the last 12 years. It has been donations from people all over the country that have been empowering the team to do some of the incredible things they have been able to do. Please help us to continue beating the odds and get as many kids as possible into college, especially in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields where the United States could definitely use some help.
The students will use the Microsoft tablet computer to program the FIRST Robotics robot for the upcoming robotics season. After the programming is done, they will then use the tablet as the operator interface for the drivers. This is how they will control the robot and see the telemetry coming from the robot so the driver will know what is going on. The tablet is light and powerful which makes it perfect for this application.
Providing the latest technology to the Falcon Robotics team is what helps keep our team among the best in the country.
