I am very lucky to work in an excellent school. Not only do our students learn academic basics, but they also learn how to be good friends and citizens. Each of my 20 first graders loves coming to school.
Our school is a safe, fun and welcoming learning environment.
Our entire staff is committed to the success of every student, every day. This can be seen as students travel to different classrooms for reading so each student can learn at his or her own instructional level.
There are many wonderful things happening at our school, but often there are no extra funds to provide students with all the tools needed to maximize learning.
My Project
I have a wonderful class of active, bright and fun first graders. Each of my students has many unique gifts and abilities. They also face a variety of unique challenges. Some of my students struggle to focus when the classroom volume is elevated, a few cannot see the board as they wait for glasses to replace a pair that was broken, and others simply do prefer moving while they work.
The addition of these ERC4KIDS Surf Desks will provide a quiet working space, bring students closer to the board and allow the little learners in my class a way to move without distracting classmates.
I am excited by the options these surf desks will bring to my classroom. They will allow students to spread out around the classroom and beyond. Students will use these desks throughout the school day from writing to math.
I know these Surf Desks will be well received by students and ultimately improve learning. These tools will be used by students for years to come.
