Supporting Students One Comfortable Chair at a Time
Help me give my students options for flexible seating. I choose more comfortable seating options, rather than the traditional desk set up, because I want my students to feel at home in my classroom.
We are a school of about 600 students, reaching students from ECE-5th grade. Within this group of students, we are privileged to teach general education, gifted and talented, and special needs.
My students are hardworking, dedicated, and eager to continue their journey of education while becoming advocates for themselves and the world.I will have sixty amazing students this year in my platooned subjects of reading core and guided reading.
From the "shy guy" to the "class clown," my classroom has it all. Students engage and work together to create the classroom a community. We are not just a classroom, but a family.
My Project
I have now made my classroom my home for 5 months. I now understand how to utilize my space in a more effective way. I want to create a space that is welcoming, warm, and comfortable in the hopes my students get excited to spend their time together in our room. With flexible seating options, my students will be able to choose a place in our classroom that best suits their individual needs. A more comfortable work environment will inspire students to do their best, while having a sense they are in a home away from home! My students and I are so appreciated of this opportunity!
