Supporting Students in an ECE Classroom

My Students

I teach early childhood students with a variety of special needs from severe Autism to Down Syndrome to sensory processing disorders. My students learn from hands-on activities and playing. Our main focus on the classroom is to teach core vocabulary and foundational functional skills.

My Project

My students are ages 3-5 and are learning academic, social, communication, and functional skills. We teach through real-life experiences, play-based lessons, and formal lessons at a desk. My students need hands-on materials to make meaningful connections. I have been using a lot of printouts on Teacher Pay Teachers, a site that gives teachers resources and pays the teacher that created those materials. Using the materials and resources on Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to switch up materials and give my preschoolers new and different activities to explore and prepare them to move on to kindergarten.
