My students are creative, energetic and full of passion and love for music! They absolutely love performing for our community and giving back to the people who support our program! They come to school each day ready to try new things and think outside of the box in order to grow both personally and musically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in saying that Choir is the only reason they come to school each day.
Our school is nestled in the north eastern corner of Ohio along Lake Erie, which was once surrounded by industry and ports. Now, with many of them closed, our families often struggle to find employment and opportunity.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves to create music. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each day!
My Project
My students enjoy singing. Its what often times gets them motivated to come to school and compels them to graduate. Having the proper equipment to perform is vital to their success.
My students have learned the importance of giving back to the community through song.
The bass amplifier that we currently use is old. The knobs are constantly breaking and the loud buzzing is frustrating to both the bass player and the vocalists. We have received a new keyboard that we need to protect with a hardshell case for traveling. A bass amplifier and keyboard case would give the students security in knowing that their equipment was going to work as we travel to various venues to perform for our community.
A new keyboard would bring a new excitement and energy to the group for years to come!
