My Students

I teach kindergarten in Bessemer City, North Carolina. My school serves students pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Every morning my students walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and eager to see what is in store for them that day.

We are a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

I have a mix of students in my class. They all come from different backgrounds, but one thing my students all have in common is their love for learning.

My Project

My classroom is need of some more flexible seating options to support all of my students. My school district chose my classroom to be a pilot program called "The Den." This program gives students, no matter their disability a chance to be in a regular education classroom, and also gives them opportunities to grow their strengths and weaknesses. The purple cushions will support my students who choose to sit in the floor and work. The kinetic sand will help support my students sensory needs. These items will help my students become better learners by helping them focus and remain calm during learning.
