This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in the classrooms I serve have significant learning, social, communicative and emotional challenges. Many accompanying challenges they face include motor skill and sensory processing difficulties.

As an Occupational therapist, my students often need a variety of materials and equipment to support their sensory processing and modulation, body awareness, fine and gross motor skills, and social skills and engagement.

My students are my heart, and I want to provide activities to help them be successful at life!

My Project

The materials requested will help replace old and worn out materials, as well as provide much needed supplies to support my students with significant challenges with attention, motor skills, self regulation, social skills, leisure and daily living skills! They need multi-sensory, tactile, hands-on and movement equipment to bring awareness to their bodies in order to learn and to understand their body signals and respond appropriately to stimuli in the environment. These materials will provide my students who struggle with learning to color and write, play, or sit for a lesson, with supportive, adaptive, and fun opportunities to learn and grow.
