My students are aged three to six. They come from all over New Hanover and Brunswick County from many walks of life. As a Montessori Charter school I am dependent on fundraisers and donations for most of our supplies.
The students come into school everyday ready to learn with giant smiles on their little faces.
During this developmental stage the children have minds that absorb everything and anything around them. They bring me great joy and hope for the future of our world.
My Project
Having a library with developmentally appropriate books that also expose children to diversity and positive self-image will allow my students to develop a lifelong love of reading as well as a loving understanding of humanity.
As a pre-K and kindergarten teacher I understand the need to have books that inspire, are inclusive, and engage these young minds.
Having a boombox and headphones for story books with CDs will also aid in building literacy skills.
The children already love reading to our classroom bunny, and soon they will have many more options to read to him! Thank you for your support.
