My AP World History students need resources that meet them at their unique reading levels. Most of my students are in 10th grade, but their abilities vary greatly. Having many reading options allows them to investigate without fear.
My students are often taking their very first college-prep course when they enter my world history class.
They are motivated, driven, and passionate to learn about their world.
But because it is their first experience in a college-level course, the year is full of challenges and a lot of hard work.
The most rewarding part of teaching these students is the tremendous growth they display by the end of the year. I love hearing from former students when they are in college and they realize that I was tough on them, but being in my class helped get them ready to be successful at their universities.
My Project
AP courses and exams are one way that students can get a head start of expensive college tuition costs, so I want to do everything I can to help my students be successful on their AP exams. There are a wide variety of review manuals available to students from several different publishers.
Rather than ask my students to purchase these review manuals themselves, I would like to create a classroom library so students can borrow and share resources with each other.
These review manuals are especially helpful for struggling readers, English-language learners, and students with a lot of demands on their time, such as part time jobs and extra-curricular activities.
