Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are wonderful, resilient, young people who work hard each day to overcome the challenges of learning a new language. They strive every day to learn and grow as readers. However, our students still need support and encouragement to reach that next level in reading comprehension. The end of the school year is approaching, however, and I want to help ensure that our students don't lose the great gains they have made in reading comprehension during this school year.
My Project
Statistics support the importance of students having access to books in their home. It is not always possible for our students to get access to books at home during the summer months, and your support could help students to sustain or even continue to grow their reading comprehension during the summer. We would like to be able to put at least one brand new book in each student's hand before they leave for summer break. This project would help us to get closer to our goal.
