Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school. Many of our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. I work with a very diverse group of students. I have many English Learners and students who read at a variety of levels. My students have shown lots of growth since the beginning of the school year and continue to work hard. I am constantly researching and restructuring the classroom to help them learn and to make a very comfortable and less distracting environment. My students have lots of potential to succeed and overcome barriers.

My Project

I am requesting Hi-Write paper and thick pencil grips to support my students with their writing. I have several students who have a learning disability and I have found that using this paper gets them writing better. The highlighted paper helps them keep inside the lines when writing. It also helps them print easily because the lines are thick. The highlighted portion helps them see the lines better. I am requesting the thick pencil grips so that my students can grasp their writing utensils easily. This will all help support my students who have a need with developing their fine-motor skills.
