My students are an eager group of kiddos who love to learn! They have a wide range of abilities and interests, which makes our room such a vibrant, creative place to learn and play. They are curious and excited to explore different types of activities, collaborative assignments, and critical thinking challenges.
I've also noticed that my students enjoy a challenge and being physically active.
I would love to provide my kids the opportunity to hone their concentration and coordination skills.
My Project
Speed stacking is a fitness-based sport that kids from all backgrounds and abilities can do. For the athlete and non-athlete alike, speed stacking not only promotes physical fitness but also academic learning. Research shows that students who speed stack on a regular basis improve test scores and concentration. This is achieved by students using both their right and left sides of their brain. When students speed stack, they are crossing the "midline" of their bodies and developing new connections in their brains. These new connections help to spur brain growth, which in turn promotes greater academic achievement. In addition, speed stacking helps improve student dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and quickness.
I strive to create a classroom environment in which my students train their brains while having fun, learn how to be good competitors, and get physically active.
With these speed stack sets, our PE time, rainy days, and free time will be forever changed into a physical and cognitive learning opportunity! I'm so excited to provide them this!
