My Students

I am teaching a group of very dedicated strings students! In my orchestra class my students choose to play either violin, viola, cello, or bass. Every day they come in to my classroom, unpack in a timely manner, and are immediately focused and prepared to play their warm-ups and concert music. Everyone is excited to be a part of our daily music making!

Many of my students come from lower income households and require assistance in obtaining materials for their orchestra class.

My goal for this project is to provide these students with the materials they need to be successful. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn!

My Project

The most important thing for beginning orchestra students to learn is proper posture. If an orchestra student is playing with incorrect posture, it is impossible for them to play in tune and impossible for them to play with a nice tone.

One way to help ensure that beginning violin and viola students are set up with good posture, is to make sure that they have access to shoulder rests.

Students often forget their shoulder rests at home as there is no where to store them in their instrument cases. This fundraiser will provide students with pouches that will make it easier for them to keep track of their shoulder rests.
