This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hi! I am a special ed, first year teacher working in Baltimore City, Maryland. Although I am very excited to begin this journey, I do not have the necessary resources to serve my students.
My school is located in Northeast Baltimore.
It is a diverse student population (76% African American, 22% White, 2% Asian, Latino and American Indian), as well as a diverse staff population. I work with students, with different disabilities, from grades Kindergarten to fourth grade.
My Project
This project will help my students access the content in a way that is appealing to them. All the students that I teach have disabilities in some shape. For this reason, it is often difficult for them to understand things that we may find easy. By letting them use a tablet to access the content, they are able to see it in a different way, in which they will learn and understand the concepts better! My students need an iPad to be able to access the content in a way that is appealing to their learning style. A case is needed so that the tablet is protected.
These donations will allow my students to access the content in a more appealing manner, which will then help them understand the concepts we are learning more!
It will change and impact their lives for the better by teaching them the foundational skills they need in order to continue to grow and become strong readers, writers, and mathematicians that love to learn.
