Help me give my students Chromebooks at a one-to-one ratio. I am trying to build my Chromebook cart so that each of my 22 students has his/her own Chromebook to use.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. Our community is considered economically disadvantaged. I currently serve about 85 total students, with each separate class containing approximately 22 students. Student abilities range from highly gifted and talented to students with specific learning disabilities.

I currently do not have an aide to help in any of my classes.

My team which is made up of 4 teachers total shares a cart of 20 Chromebooks for the entire team of 85 students. This often becomes difficult because it means that project-based learning cannot be effectively utilized. Students are at a disadvantage because there is not sufficient technology.

My Project

Textbooks have become obsolete when educating young minds about the geography and culture of other places in the world. Students in our economically disadvantaged hometown of less than 20,000 people often never have the chance to travel far from home.

After obtaining a set of Chromebooks for my classroom, my students will be able to travel the world virtually through sites such as Google Maps and Discovery Education.

I love to assign my students project-based assignments, and most love exploring the internet and learning the cultures of places thousands of miles away. With the holidays coming up, we will be researching holidays and winter traditions from around the world.
