Support Inclusion for High School Students with Disabilities
Help me give my students greater access to the high school curriculum. All items are to assist with meeting their needs. We have iPads no holder. The printer is to print maps and art work done on iPads.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I work with have liabilities ranging from Autism to English Language Learners with intellectual disabilities. I primarily work with self contained students in a variety of inclusion settings. As a class we meet once to twice a day to assist with completing work from their classes and to work on their IEP goals.
My position also requires me to work with other students within the classes I am a co-teaching.
I co-teach a large variety of topics and grade levels. I assist English language learners, exceptional education students, general education students, basically any student who needs assistance.
The classes in which I assist the students are as varied and the students themselves.
To see the success of the students when they learn a concept, or the collaboration of peers is a great thing as a teacher. On a daily basis I am able to do just that. I believe it takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a community to teach a child. Each of my students requires that assistance and the inclusion classes has assisted with their growth and learning both academically and socially.
My Project
My project will be used to assist students in accessing the general education curriculum and in completing assignments and projects from those classes. This year was this high school's first year in creating a inclusion based program for self contained students of varying abilities. It has been a learning process, not just for the students, but the staff as well. We have noticed that in order for the students to have access to the curriculum of the general education classes, we have needed to adjust and are in need of more materials than we currently use in the self contained rooms.
The calculators I have requested will assist the students in working with fractions and algebraic equations, as well as seeing what the work and solution are.
The scientific calculator is for the higher functioning students who just need the use of the calculator for higher level equations.
The color printer is to assist students with printing out artwork completed on i pads or the computer. It is also to assist with printing of multi genre driven reports that contain pictures, and power points used for notes that contain graphs, charts, and highlighted information.
The iPads that we received are fantastic, but I could use a docking station to organize the iPads for student use. The label maker will assist with placing names on the I pads and labeling materials.
The items asked for will greatly assist with the growth of the students and to accessing the same curriculum as their peers. When this is accomplished the pride these students show is amazing and so great to observe.
