This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a public school serving Chicago's Homan Square community. A mission of urban education is to empower youth to thrive in college and careers by giving them access to quality resources and an innovative teaching staff.
My students need resources to engage in math in tangible ways.
This school year is exciting as I am teaching a full classroom of 11th grade students eager to succeed in math! My job is to ensure students see real-life connections in math and prepare them for the SAT!
My Project
Activate Learning is a reputable company that creates curricula that inspires deep conceptual understanding. I'm excited to use these resource guides to help activate students' prior knowledge, while also preparing them for future math classes!
My students have the challenge of learning the complexities of Algebra 2 and preparing for the SAT test.
I know the best way for many students to learn is through real-life application and challenging problems. Each of the teacher guides explains in detail how best to relate unit concepts to application problems. These textbook teacher guides will be used to supplement what my students will need to learn this year in Algebra 2.
