Help me give my students access to materials such as a multimedia headset, timers, and fidget bands that will help them both physically and academically in class.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a special education teacher, I strive to make sure all students have access to the materials they need in order to be successful in the classroom and access grade-level curriculum. Working with students who require special accommodations and modifications can sometimes be a challenge but most of the time is so rewarding. My students are in need of headphones, mics, and fidgets that the school does not supply. I have been able to supply some of my students with the materials they need but always feel a twinge of guilt when I'm unable to do so for ALL my students.
Your donation will help me, help my students continue to grow by providing them with materials they need to access the grade-level curriculum and be successful in the classroom.
My Project
The use of technology and the ability to remain engaged and focused in class is sometimes a struggle for my students, but small items make a BIG difference. Visual and auditory timers help students manage time and be prepared for the next scheduled activity. Line readers and pencil grips help my students with motor skills and those who have reading disabilities. Headphones with mics are integral to helping students who need speech to text or text to speech when on chrome books.
My students deserve access to the tools they need in order to be successful in all ways in the classroom.
