This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our elementary school is located in Palatka, Florida. It’s a Title I school which means that a large percentage of the students come from low-income families. All of the students receive free lunch and are considered economically disadvantaged.
The school has struggled to meet state standards receiving either a D or F for the past five years.
But, all that is changing. We are moving mountains and making a difference! Our students did it! We made a C in 2019!
My Project
Help me give my students the school supplies they need to be successful. We are introducing students into tracking their own data. They will use their AVID binders to double as data notebooks; hence, they need dividers.
Our classroom is also in need of general supplies as our stockpile of donations made at the beginning of the year is about depleted.
We are in need of everything from pencils, notebook paper, and erasers for daily assignments to books that are part of our unit plans. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Our school is moving mountains and climbing to that B in 2020!
