I teach high school students ages 13-18. This year I am teaching Geography, World History, and Ethnic Studies. My students are amazing! 68% come are Hispanic, another 11% are Black/African American and currently only about 80% of the 2400 students at the school graduate.
While they come from different backgrounds and different socioeconomic situations, my students are fun, kind, respectful, and eager to learn.
Unfortunately, they do not all come from good home lives and they come to school for safety and support.
These students, like every other student, deserve the best and my goal is to help them get it.
My school does not have printer paper for teachers who need to make copies. We are expected to spend our own money if we want to make copies. In addition to that, while there are laptops in the classroom, I was only allotted 33 when I have two periods of 38 students and one period of 36 students making it difficult to do online assignments. This means I have to make more copies!
I will also need scissors, staplers, and tape/tape dispensers for students to do interactive activities.
I like my students to do projects in the class, especially to benefit students who don't have the capability to do projects at home. And for that I need more paper as well.
