I am teaching in a brand new Intensive Learning Support class for 5 to 8-year-old students. My students have a variety of disabilities but they are all full of enthusiasm and excitement for learning! They come from a school with many economically disadvantaged students, which makes supplying basic essentials difficult.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
Every day they come to school ready and eager to learn. Basic supplies are needed to help my students learn and growth without interruption.
My Project
Basic supplies are used on a daily basis and run out quickly. One of the favorite classroom activities is writing and drawing with markers. The students love to draw in their journals and write about their adventures.
Creative drawing fosters independent communication in students who have a difficult time with language skills.
Every day they ask to use markers and paper. Unfortunately, my students are not so good at remembering to put the caps on markers and they dry out quickly.
The other basic supplies will help me keep their work organized. Clipboards, sheet protectors and page dividers will allow us to keep portfolios organized for each student.
