Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students are very motivated to learn. Many of my students come from a low socioeconomic background and struggle to provide their daily supplies needed. Our school is located in a small oilfield town where many layoffs have occurred putting a lot of oilfields workers without a job. You can see the struggle through the children when they aren't able to provide the necessary tools needed daily in our classroom. By allowing the opportunity for the students to have the needed materials, the students will not have to worry or stress about having to purchase their own supplies.
My Project
All of these materials will make a huge difference in my students' learning by allowing them to have the necessary tools available to them in my classroom. Many times, instructional time is lost due to students lacking the necessary materials. As we take notes in class, I have students who lack the skills to write quickly allowing them to keep up with the class.
By using this requested Xerox WorkCentre wireless colored multifunction printer the students will easily be able to make a copy of notes to save time from note taking in class.
This gives the students more learning and practice time necessary in math, science, and English language development. Also, the students will use the colored printer in all subjects to print and copy necessary notes for class. We are asking for extra ink cartridges to supply the ink for several months in our class.
With the pencils and mechanical pencils, students will no longer have to search for a pencil or stress on completing the notes in a timely manner. The students are also in need of sheet protectors to keep their notes and work organized in their binder. In addition, we are asking for dry erase markers to practice math problems on their dry erase boards. All of these supplies will assist my students in becoming better, successful students.
