Help me give my students the necessary supplies to start the year off right! As many do not bring their own supplies, I will provide the basics to them. Composition books will be used for our Science Journals.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I hear and I forget. I see and I believe. I do and I understand." Confucius's statement is one I live by in my teaching philosophy. I encourage my students to be active in their learning and experiences. Hands-on science is crucial!
My students are the shining stars of their families and communities, deserving every opportunity possible.
They come mostly from a poverty-stricken neighborhood.
While they have a sense of community within their neighborhood, they come to me lacking knowledge and experiences most children have. I help my students through local funds, grants, and fundraising to participate in many scientific activities.
Several of the students took their love of science and participated in Science Fair, three kids represented our school at the regionals, with one of them advancing to state and Broadcom Masters.
We are currently working with a university on an EPA environmental grant to show that one person can make a difference - but more is better.
As always we display our science achievements at community events where the students present their topics. These kids do not let their economic levels affect the positive impact they will make on our scientific communities.
My Project
Every August we start to see the "Supply our Students" events. I have noticed as I give and volunteer for these events, it is geared towards elementary. Unfortunately, our middle school kids are often hiding out or refuse to go.
At my middle school, the majority of my students come to school with no supplies.
It is extremely hard as a mom of four to continue to purchase their supplies. However, it is necessary to provide learning opportunities for my students. As we create models, design an engineering blueprint, and write our observations in our science journal, kids need basic supplies!
Please help us achieve our goals this year learning about life and the environment around us. Help provide supplies to my students!
